About Us
I Matter is dedicated to educating, empowering, and supporting women and children who are victims and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), mental health disorders and social crime to fulfil their purpose. We provide psychosocial support to women and children who are victims, survivors and or witnesses of Gender based violence and social ills and poverty.
We envision a world where every individual impacted by GBV, mental health disorders and social crime receives the support they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
I Matter was founded in 2017 by Natalie Abrahams, who recognised the need for a comprehensive support system for victims and survivors of GBV and social crime in her community.
In 2023 January, the organization was introduced as a full time service in the community. Since then, we have served over 2000 diverse children in our local schools and more than 1800 men, women and children through our workshops and community awareness and prevention campaigns.
The NPO is registered with Department of Social Development and with SARS as a PBO for tax rebates on donations and sponsorships.
